The Castleton armoire is a monument to its namesake sandstone tower, which rises steeply and dramatically from the historic Ute lands of south eastern Utah. These towers stand as a record of the Earth's history, holding ancient narratives within their layers. Similarly, the armoire serves as a repository for personal and familial histories, safeguarding items of sentimental value.
The handles of the armoire are cast in sand from recycled aluminum, echoing how the desert winds and rains shape the cliffs and wash the sand from their bodies into the landscape below.
